Thanks Chris, good to know. I do see the grain lines through the finish. Also, can anyone tell me what the controls are *supposed* to do? Mine behave in a non-intuitive manner. /rick Rick, The front upper knob is a master volume. The back lower knob is a master tone. The back top knob is usually a ...

Re: '86 AT-4

I bought this AT-4 sometime back in the 90's, from Performance Music in Woburn MA. They said they were an authorized dealer back in the day. I was told by them that the body and neck were mahogany; does that make sense? It's pretty light, very resonant. Also note the hang tag in the last pic; that ...

Owner found...Sort of

I found a old website by Steve Nolan with this guitar. Steve wrote. " My stringed instrument collection is still headed by a handmade Time electric. It is the third from luthier Alan Stack that I have owned and by far the most ornate. It sports custom binding, mother of pearl inlay on an ebony ...

Well not that scary!

Hi Tom, The wiring in there is really neatly done. All the wires are 'tie-wrapped' with cotton string. I would route the wires, tie them up with string and put a drop of super-glue on the knot. http://www.timeguitars.com/images/GS12_wiring.jpg Here's EROS GS-12 for example. Well, maybe a little scar...

Hi robberns
Thanks for the post. That's an AT4. The black Kahler puts it in 1986. Do have any other info on this guitar. Maple or Alder Body? Serial Number?
Thanks, Chris

Mike,
Thanks for a great thread. Now I need to do all my chores for this weekend before I head out on the road again. Oh! Wait... Is that a beer in the fridge?

Re: My Time

Chris, They were all like mine, finished with no hardware. They just needed rubbing out, holes drillled for components and the FLoyd Rose. I did not see any guitars under construction. I assume it was the finish (drying?) room. They were all hanging. I can no longer recall if there were single or d...

When I visited the Barn, I think about a year before it burned, there may have been 20 or 30 unfinished guitars ... some basses, mostly Prime Times and some AT-3s. Mike Wow Mike, that's depressing... Where these guitars in the finish room or just in various states of construction? When we were cran...

Re: My Time

Hi All, I don’t recall the year, but after Time Guitars ceased operations, they ran an ad in Vt Times offering guitars, unfinished guitars and parts for sale. I went over to the barn and purchased an Advance Time Three from their rather large inventory of painted, but otherwise unfinished guitars. ...

Thanks Weenote.
Time Guitars was really about the teamwork that we had.
You should keep your eyes open for used Times. I have already found and bought four of them.

Building Time Pickups

Hi All, Brent Domann asked about the pickups in his Prime Time. Here's my response. Hi Brent, Your Prime Time pickups started out as Schaller high output. [Two in One] Model #212 I googled and found these. http://www.timeguitars.com/images/Pickup212N.jpg Surprisingly, Schaller is still making the s...

Welcome aboard Eben.

Eben, It's nice to see some real Time people jump on board here. Are you the same Eben that used to roller skate playing your GS in the TV ad for a local sound equipment store? Johnny Moore was one of the greatest salesman Time ever had! And we didn't have to pay him either. Thanks for joining, Chris

Fluorescent Red Time Caster

This has all black hardware, A Floyd Rose, and retina burning fluorescent red paint. I believe this was built for the Guy that played for the Hollywood Indians.
