Re: Postcard

That was for a Christmas party I threw at my apartment at the Woolen Mill in Winooski.
Dec 1983.
If I'm not mistaken,

Found: Replacement Gibson S1 bridge for Times

FYI Out of curiosity, I have found and purchased a very nice S1 bridge replacement that is made in China. You may know that Gibson [Schaller] stopped making these bridges years ago. With a few mods, these new bridges are a perfect replacement for your old crusty Time 'Gibson S1' bridge. I'm not sure...

Re: Well Worn GS [GS8X-151 1/83]

Update. I looked at Jedd's guitar. It needed the selector switch replaced, had a high fret buzz, and the ground connection to the bridge needed repair. I knew from past posts that Bill Simmon's guitar also needed a selector replacement. I found vintage Alcoswitch selector switches on ebay and replac...

Re: Candy Stripe GS9, third six-pack o' pix

Nice! It's a DayGlo explosion! It's interesting to note that it's marked as a GS9. Notice the GS9 pickguard [bigger area below the master volume.] but with GS 8 wiring. No tone switching. It's got the later Schaller one piece bridge with the brass saddles. These bridges started to appear in 84/85. I...

The complete TIME PORTFOLIO series from 1984

The original TIME Portfolio series. This series is the first 'brochure' for Time. The photo shoots were started in 1984 right after Alan sold his interest in Time. These were created by Photographer Barb Leslie & myself. I would bring guitars to her studio as they were built. This allowed us to...

Re: Sweet sounds from the big white barn

Thanks Craig, That 'Short History of Time' has been rewritten many times. I plan to rewrite it soon with new information. It really should be on Wikipedia... Any takers? You should check the members list here, as both Don & Paul are members here. I remember Don's apartment, later on another frie...

Re: Sweet sounds from the big white barn

Welcome to the forum Craig. Fueling those vivid, hazy memories is what this site is all about! In 1986 we were completely involved in the fluorescent 'DayGlo 'movement'. Anything, everything DayGlo; Candy stripes, EKG heartbeats, Camouflage, and Tiger Stripes in DayGlo. And those are just the ones I...

Re: New Baby (Green)

Eros, I'm very surprised about the ebony board. It on a non-Artist model. The ebony board would have had the diamond inlays and binding on it. I was doing the inlays and installing the frets before they were glued on the neck at that point. Of course, I may have been totally going for the black hard...

Re: New Baby (Green)

Eros, Very nice. I have pictures of it's twin! These were both guitars that were at the barn after Time closed. This is PT-1 # 542 in the same color. Same Kahler with the flip nut. Same black teardrop jack plate. Yours has a Seymour Duncan pickup where this Willis Collection guitar has the Time Pres...

Re: Price List (Date Unsure)

Hi Chris, I would definitely say this is from 1985. This list was matched to the black & white brochure that was out. The Prime Time had just appeared, We had been making the IC [Ichabod Crane Headless] for about a year. That wiring chart outlines the 10 different pickup/ switching/ volume and t...

Re: Coil Guitars

Cool link. The web site and flash app is cooler than the guitar. I read with amusement about how the 1st thing everyone does with their new guitar is, rewire it!' LOL. I would like to think the 1st thing is to make music! I recognize all the sound permutations. The Times really were pared down to th...

Re: Johnny Winter's Advance Artist. #554

Mike, Thanks, I added the 'lyte' option for posting. It allows really big image links. I think you saw this one. This is the only one in the collection. That doesn't mean there wasn't a Black Walnut version. I just don't remember it. Most of these [ALL] guitars went out the door within hours of the ...
