Starting in 1972, Time Guitars produced incredible handmade guitars until the late 80's. This forum is a meeting place and clearing house for all things related to these great guitars!
Welcome back Tracy, It's interesting that 'The Chittenden Trust Company' was putting out guitar picks. Most of the players I knew back then were not good candidates for bank loans. Got any 'Grand Funk Railroad' picks? Now those are priceless! Chris Note: Someone in high school was the next Mark Farn...

Tom, Thanks for posting the numbers. I have the brown shaded AT-3 from the brochure. It's # 524 Your PT-5 #517 is most likely the guitar from the brochure. Since I don't have any official records or really remember how many were made we can assume... All the 'new' style controls thru the back instru...
Jackjumper, I have this picture from the brochure. The grain pattern is pretty distintive on this guitar. Notice below the trem here. The PT-5 is shown on the back side of the brochure... Got serial numbers? Thanks, Chris
JackJumper. Well! Thanks for the post. Please tell us more! Is the Green Advance Time body made with Alder? Is the Black Walnut Advance from the brochure? What do you remember from your visit to Time for the sale. I had left Time before the sale. Chris
Hey Rich, Thanks for posting. You have a GS posted. This one is just covered with Gibson tidbits. [Original tidbits] Selector switch. Humbuckers. S1 bridge. Truss rod cover. Tone & Volume Knobs. [possibly the pots too.] This guitar was likely built as we moved from the Darrell's Music shop into ...
Hey Joe! Welcome to TimeGuitars.com. This early bolt-on Time Caster is sold. I have pictures from Andrew that I'll post as time allows. It has a non-original brass pickguard and wiring. I'm betting this was done by Brad French in Vermont. It was WAY INTO BRASS! Perhaps too much.... I saw your email ...
Here's a quick stab at explaining the models. I've included more photos on the early Time shop. These were provided by SollyDad. Thank you! All early models used a 2 letter 2 digit combination. The letters refer to the body style and scale length and the 2 numbers represent the 'TRIM' & wiring ...
Hi all, This guitar is sold. It a early TimeCaster from Waltham. One piece bolt-on maple neck. Honduras Mahogany body. The brass pickguard and wiring is not original, but the guitar is in great shape otherwise. Here's few pics from Ajax. This is the only TimeCaster I've seen with binding on the body...
Eden, I thought of you yesterday went I posted this. I have a call in to one of the Willis family. I'm trying to find out if any survived. I'll keep you posted. I also remember this guitar was difficult to play. The finish on the neck was so thick the frets were barely there. It was almost a fret-le...
Hey all, I'm trying out a new scanner. This is a Barb Leslie photograph. She thought the way I cradled this guitar was interesting. Also notice the numbers for fret makers. It's perfect for those 'play by the number' songbooks! http://www.timeguitars.com/images/YellowCasterWeb.jpg Notice the new Ni...
I found this Time Caster Switching Description in my pile of Time stuff. As you can see. The two pickup selector switches allow more choices than a standard 5-position strat switch.
