My three Times

Postby jackjumper on Fri Jul 25, 2008 9:49 am

Here's a picture of my three Times. The green one was unfinished (I think in process at the time of the fire). I've got it mostly up, but it still needs some tweaking.

JackJumper.
Well! Thanks for the post. Please tell us more!
Is the Green Advance Time body made with Alder? Is the Black Walnut Advance from the brochure?
What do you remember from your visit to Time for the sale. I had left Time before the sale.

Yes, the black walnut time is the one from the brochure (I think) and perhaps the black prime time is as well. I got them about ten years ago through Mark Willis. The green one is one that was unfinished at the time of the fire. I've got it put together and wired up, but it could still use some tweaking, which I'll get to at some point.

Jackjumper,
I have this picture from the brochure. The grain pattern is pretty distintive on this guitar. Notice below the trem here.
The PT-5 is shown on the back side of the brochure...
Got serial numbers?
Thanks, Chris

Tom,
Thanks for posting the numbers.

I have the brown shaded AT-3 from the brochure. It's # 524
Your PT-5 #517 is most likely the guitar from the brochure.
Since I don't have any official records or really remember how many were made we can assume...
All the 'new' style controls thru the back instruments started at # 500. [ATs/PTs] Your Green AT-3 #601, purchased after Time shutdown, means there was at least 100-124 AT/PT guitars made. Or it could mean that the Green ones weren't selling well that year. Just like Sad songs & Waltzes. [That's from a Cake song that always made me laugh.]

Cheers, Chris
